This is a catalog for a special exhibition that comprehensively explains the history, architecture, ancestral rites, ancestral rites, and ritual music of Jongmyo Shrine. Starting with Bumyo (祔廟), the ceremony of enshrining the deceased in Jongmyo after the death of the king and queen, the space and architecture of Mangmyoru (望廟樓), the enshrined objects in the ancestral chamber, the ceremonial procedure of Jongmyo ancestral rites, The vessels used in the ancestral rites, the ancestral rites, the preparation space for the ancestral rites, and the contents of the Jongmyo Jeryeak were introduced in detail through related artifacts, photos, and videos.

Jongmyo is a Confucian royal shrine that has been maintained intact to this day, and is rare in the world. Intangible cultural heritage, such as the Jongmyo Jerye rite and Jongmyo Jeryeak, has been passed down through the 500-year history of the Joseon Dynasty to the present. In recognition of these values, Jongmyo Shrine was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995, and Jongmyo Jerye and Jongmyo Jeryeak were listed as UNESCO Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity in 2001.
